oh please let the teaching of maths and science be taught in english.
let the kids learn new words in english.
and please stop labelling me as anti-bahasa melayu or something to that effect.
by preferring english than bahasa, it doesnt make me less malay, trust me.
im juz saying it from my experience.
i wasnt able to speak english well until i was 18 i guess...?
and by not mastering english in school, it made me inferior to others who speak english unbelievably well. i didnt envy them, i just ignored the fact that i could if i tried harder.
and no, i dont speak in english all the time with my kids at home. sometimes yes but not all the time.
coz i dont want to be one of those parents who are proud to say that their kids suck in bahasa.
it may sound cool but actually, who are u kidding?
im responding this to a statement by the new education minister who will decide whether to mantain the teaching of maths and science in english or to revert it back to bahasa.
do not confuse the children.
learning in english doesnt kill anyone for that matter.
